The 40Seven Social Fund got off to a great start with a group paintballing trip in the forests near Wakefield. The cover of trees and bushes, not to mention a cold war era Soviet rocket launcher, brought out the inner soldier in many. Lots of bruises were collected along the way back to base camp, but a fantastic day was had by all.

At the beginning of July a team from 40Seven and IETG walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks, scaling Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent in little under 12 hours. The challenge was to raise funds for St Gemma’s Hospice who provide much needed expert care and support for local people with terminal illnesses. On 17^th June, Mel Sleeper Ryan Hainsworth and Phil Wilson took on the daunting challenge of walking 45 miles in aid of Mind. Mel was asked to build a team to join in this charity walk by Severn Trent. The team completed the walk in under 16 hours. The walk was in memory of Jamie Margets, who sadly took his own life after battling with depression. You can find out more about the walk and Jamie at www.mindyourstepwalk.co.uk.

This month has been exhibition crazy! We have attended a range of interesting and useful exhibitions:

• The Railex exhibition to look at Rail survey technology and meet with prospective partners.
• The Utlity Week exhibition to look at innovative technologies in the gas, energy and water sectors.
• The Highways England routes to market event.
• The Geo-business event in London to explore advancements in surveying technology including Drones, Mobile Mapping and laser scanning

Our Delivery Manager, Graeme Jamieson also gave a presentation to MWH on safety and Underground Utility Surveying.

We have started surveying the first Cycle Superhighway route, whilst also tendering for another four with Transport for London. We are providing technology leading Topographic and Underground Utility Surveys across a 5 km route.
